High School Suspension Program (LINKS/LINKS Remote)

Grades: 9-12

The High School Suspension Program (LINKS/LINKS Remote) is a disciplinary placement program. Admission is limited to high school students who are placed by the school division's hearing officer following a disciplinary action. The hearing officer determines the duration of the student's placement.

Students complete their coursework through an online learning platform, allowing them to remain on track toward earning credits while receiving academic support and progress monitoring. The in-person program operates on a shortened day featuring AM and PM sessions, incorporating consistent routines, clear behavioral expectations, and opportunities to practice responsibility, self-regulation, and positive decision-making. Students enrolled in LINKS Remote receive daily virtual academic support, progress monitoring, and regular communication to promote course completion and continued engagement in their learning. The program's goal is to support successful course completion while helping students rebuild confidence, strengthen essential life skills, and prepare for a successful transition back to their traditional school, future employment, or postsecondary opportunities upon completion of their disciplinary placement.
